Fall is always beautiful in Arizona, and it was an especially lovely day when the ladies of Phat Strad arrived in Scottsdale for an exclusive country club event. The stage was set on the rolling hills of the club’s perfectly maintained golf course, and guests mingled on the club’s back terrace. The scene was made even more beautiful by an assortment of top-of-the-line cars around the perimeter provided by Maserati, one of the evening’s sponsors. As the sun started to set and dinner was served, Phat Strad took the stage for an evening of well-known operatic themes, classic rock anthems, and sing-along pop hits (and most of the audience was indeed singing along by the end!). After the girls’ rousing sets, special guest star Gavin DeGraw took the stage…but we heard more than a few audience members whisper “shhh, don’t tell, but we liked Phat Strad better!” All in all, it was truly a night of real beauty and real entertainment!

Electric String Girls Run the “Real World” at the Hard Rock Hotel
Things got real at a party in the Hard Rock Hotel’s Real World Suite when the ladies of Phat Strad walked in! Surrounded by beautiful furnishings, pool tables, hot tubs, bars (for both drinks and cigars), giant fish tanks, and even an in-room bowling lane, guest couldn’t help but have high expectations for the party – and as usual, Phat Strad delivered. Playing four marathon sets of everything from classical standards to classic rock, the ladies provided a nearly non-stop soundtrack for the merrymaking, from opening cocktails until the last guests were walking out the door. Between eating the delicious food, relaxing in the luxurious surroundings, and singing along to Phat Strad’s versions of all their favorite rock n’ roll hits, attendees certainly had a night to remember…long after they had to return to the actual real world!
Electric String Girls Meet “High Expectations” for Forbes & Porsche
Go ahead, put us on a pedestal! In one of our most adventurous shows to date, Phat Strad serenaded guests and VIPs from fifteen feet in the air at an awards dinner for Porsche and Forbes Travel Guide. Stationed on their own platforms in each corner of the room, the four girls provided a surround-sound experience in multiple dimensions – in addition to encircling the dining area horizontally, the ladies were lifted and lowered during songs for vertical surround sound as well! The visual experience was also enhanced by cascading crystals hung under the platforms to resemble small waterfalls. Guests couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw this creative display, and couldn’t believe their ears when they heard our creative takes on their favorite classic tunes. We think it’s safe to say we exceeded their high expectations!
Electric Strings in Scottsdale – Rockin’ in Red
Phat Strad plays a lot of events in neighboring state Arizona, but it would be hard to top the rave reviews and accolades the girls received in Scottsdale at the National Endoscopy Awards Dinner! Dressed in red to match the event’s decor, the lovely ladies were full-on rock stars all night long, bringing down the house with showstopping solos and engaging guests from every corner of the giant stage. The audience members couldn’t get enough of the girls – in fact, as the award winners left the stage, getting photos with Phat Strad often seemed more important to them than getting photos with their awards! A great time was had by all, and we’re certainly proud that we could make such a special night even more special for everyone at the party!
Classic Design with a Modern Twist for Rolex Bellagio
There were several reasons that Phat Strad was the perfect choice of entertainment for a small, VIP-only event at the Rolex boutique in the Bellagio Hotel. First, the group’s historical lineage mirrors that of the watches: the string quartet and the art of horlogerie both date back hundreds of years, begun by people who put the utmost care and respect into their craft and developed techniques and mechanisms still in use in the present day. Second, both Phat Strad and Rolex have taken their rich histories and created a modern variation that is fresh, visually appealing, and always classy. And third, both Rolex watches and the ladies of Phat Strad are great luxuries to have at a party! The girls, in elegant black cocktail, were able to deliver a great show and also sneak in a photo shoot with local photographer Darrell Craig Harris, who we have to thank for these pictures.
Classic Rock on the Roof at Ghostbar
The ladies of Phat Strad brought their music to the next level – literally – for a show at Ghostbar! The venue, recently renovated into one of the hottest clubs in Vegas and located on the 55th floor of the Palms casino, had an incredible view of the Strip that only got better after dark. Partygoers listened to Phat Strad’s sets in the club itself and on the outdoor patio – the perfect sophisticated soundtrack for the chic dinner event!
Rock n’ Roll Strings are “Perfection” at Lexus Cash Bash Event
Lexus may be known for their “pursuit of perfection,” but the perfect soundtrack? That came from Phat Strad during Lexus’s Cash Bash event at the Aria! The lovely ladies of Vegas’s favorite string group took their virtuosity to the stage for operatic ballads and strolled throughout the audience to deliver energetic pop songs. The closing set, of course, was a showcase of classic rock anthems and iconic solos delivered in signature 5-string style! It certainly was a night to remember, and regardless of what attendees went home with the most cash, everyone who heard this performance was a winner!
Beauty & Music for Wella Professionals at Bellagio
You know you’re playing to a good crowd when you look out into the audience and every single person has hair straight out of a fashion magazine! Such was the case at Hyde Nightclub in the Bellagio, where Phat Strad played an evening show for Wella Professionals hairstylists. Of course, the Las Vegas weather was beautiful, and the open air club provided a great view of the strip and the half-hourly show of the Bellagio Fountain. Amid the guests’ conversations about beauty and style, the ladies of Phat Strad filled the room with ambient beats and fun improvisations for the duration of the party….and of course got lots of compliments on their hair!
Las Vegas String Quartet, Cosmopolitan Style
The girls of Phat Strad played in a ‘room with a view’ for a show at the Cosmopolitan in June! The girls – playing as an electric string trio – moved from room to room in Scarpetta, one of the Cosmopolitan’s high fashion restaurants, serenading guests at a private party. With a fantastic view of the north Strip and amazing food, the girls and partygoers alike definitely enjoyed themselves. The evening culminated in a rock set of songs including “Mississippi Queen,” “Frankenstein,” and “I Love Rock n’ Roll,” with plenty of shredding solos from all three girls that had the crowd making requests and begging for encores. It’s no surprise that a venue as fashionable and…well…cosmopolitan as Scarpetta was such a good match for these girls!
Six-Girl Phat Strad Brings the Rock to Moroccan Party
It was a dark and windy night in April when Phat Strad took the stage at the M Resort Las Vegas for a Moroccan-themed party, but nonetheless the girls livened up the night with fiery solos and some good old-fashioned rock and roll! Playing to a crowd of hundreds gathered around the M Resort’s outdoor pool area, the electric strings grabbed the crowd’s attention, even those hanging around the farthest tents and torches. Playing as a sextet and accompanied by percussionists, Phat Strad’s major stage presence turned a cold dark night into a party where everyone was singing along. Peace, love, and Moroccan-roll!
